Let’s talk about sex — AND we can talk about the fact that I’ve been celibate for six years. One of my recent purchases was a kama sutra tarot deck. I’d been looking for a deck on sacral and sexual energy for a long time, but I’d never found one that didn’t come off as a gimmick. So, what’s the purpose for a sexual deck? ☾
A tarot deck, especially one with sexual energy, isn’t for use for hooking up. Grab a Cosmopolitan magazine for that. Sex is an energy exchange between two people and it’s incredibly powerful — not something to giveaway to another person lightly. It’s a much bigger decision who you give your sexual energy to than people want to recognize. I haven’t been in a relationship for six years, haven’t met anyone who meets my standard, so I’m happy staying celibate until the time comes where I meet someone who I want to exchange that energy with. ☾
I was thrilled when I finally found this deck, and I loved what the author wrote in the introduction: “Used deliberately as a tool for conscious choice, sexual magic can be one of the most transformative paths to spiritual enlightenment. It sounds ironic: but the world has over-sexualized sex. It’s no longer viewed as a way to connect with someone and heighten your spiritual experiences, rather, it’s just about scratching an itch. As soon as you abandon that matrix and oversold thought process, you’ll view sex and yourself in a whole new, enlightened, way.
